History of University City Philadelphia
University City is the name given to an area of campuses and neighborhoods in West Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania by real estate companies. Its boundaries, as defined by the non-profit University City District organization, are: the Schuylkill River to the east; Spring Garden Street, Powelton Avenue, and Market Street to the north; Civic Center Boulevard, University Avenue and Woodland Avenue to the south; and 52nd Street to the west. These boundaries encompass the neighborhoods of Cedar Park, Garden Court, Spruce Hill, Squirrel Hill, Powelton Village, Walnut Hill, and Woodland Terrace.
